Knowing is not enough; we must apply.
Willing is not enough; we must do.

TEMPOHUB: My First Website

The Last Task
Before the semester ends, Maam Liyah gave us a project about "making our own website". The first step, finding your groupmates, was quite an easy thing for I already have my blocmates, Kevin and Mark... There is an addition to our group, Ate Angel, who jived with us perfectly also..
Having our name for the site turned out much difficult than arriving at concepts of the whole page... But we ended-up with one, which was Tempohub.. The whole process seemed to be so long.. Mark wrote the codes, and the rest, the content.
More than anything else in this "opportunity', the best thing I've earned is friendship. We were bounded together by this project... group lunch, kwentuhan, tawanan... Ang sarap ng feeling kahit sabihin pang iba-iba kami ng personality. Thank you groupmates, Mam Liyah... :) I'll miss you!!!

Something about Directories

As usual, I enjoyed the activity for today in our CMSC2 Laboratory. Guess what? It's all about directories!
I find it familiar because I'm using Terminal many times. Although it pays a lot of effort, all you have to do is to memorize the codes to be used and voila! You can make, change and display the directory/ies you like.
I just like challenges and the activity really have some, like hidden directories. I feel like I'm spying in a computer and trying to manipulate the directory. Something like that, that really tickles my fancy.
  Over-all, it's much fun!

Ubuntu, Anu ba Ito?

THE FIRST ENCOUNTER.

The first time I met this Operating System was way back (DRUMROLL..) last semester, on my IT1 class. I've discovered then that the University is using Ubuntu. I find it very practical to use, though it's much different from the usual OS I've used to know.
Compared to other OS specifically Windows, as a user I would prefer Ubuntu. Regardless of it being free, what I like the most is the freedom of the user to manage or customize the OS itself.
Ubuntu is really user-friendly... I love it.

MYSELF MEETS UBUNTU FOR THE SECOND TIME.
In this class, Ubuntu is again introduced. No surprise at all.
    Got trouble recognizing it? No.
    Love it more? Yes.

MYSELF MEETS UBUNTU FOR THE Nth TIME.
    Got trouble recognizing it? No.
    Love it much? Yes.

What's with Blogging?

Blogging, besides of being a fun online activity, is a good outlet of feelings for me. We just might easily consider it as a pastime activity but it means more than that...
I would take myself as an example.
I am the kind of person who prefers to write what I feel, what I want others to hear and even what they don't. Blogging is an effective buddy for me because it just simply let me to publish my ideas freely... Without hesitations... Plus I enjoy the freedom of expression bestowed to me as a human.
I do consider it as a personal diary also. LOL. It gets rid of the pen and the paper. But like any other thing, it also offers some limitations. I know I cannot publish everything here especially if the "level of confidentiality" is too high...

"I'm not a fan of blogging but I think someday this would be one of my favorite activity..." (a.k.a. CONCLUSION)

The Real Me

BIO:
Maritess Mendoza Verana is my full name written in my NSO-authenticated birth certificate. ^_^ I am born 23rd of August 1993 at  1pm to be exact. I'm the first child of the family, that's why I think I'm the luckiest compared to my siblings coz I'm the first to got attention. (but I do not take advantage of that!) My parents are Mario G. Verana Jr. & Tessie T. Mendoza, while my siblings are namesd Rowena and Ace.

EDUCATION:
I started formal education when I was five years old, at Bagumbayan Day Care Center followed by Elementary education at Palasan Elementary School (because we've migrated that time). I graduated as the Class Valedictorian and achieved numerous awards which made my parents proud. And I, of course is proud too, but not much.
Then afterwards, I pursued my Secondary Education at Laguna State Polytechnic University - Sta. Cruz, Laguna. I must admit that my four-year stay in that University gave me a lot of "valuable experiences" which moulded me to be a better individual. I owe what I am now to my high school Alma mater.
Hence, I could say that the most important achievement  I earned there was my position in "The Gears" -  our official school publication, wherein I've been the Editor-in-Chief for almost 2 years... That was priceless because I've served the reading public with known integrity and reliability...
Much of that, now I am taking-up my College education at what they've used to call "the best University in the country" - University of the Philippines Los Banos under the BS Computer Science program.

PREFERENCES/PHILOSOPHY IN LIFE:
Simple yet contented - these are words that my friends have been used to define me... Happiness is my choice. Contentment is my game. I really want to achieve the best life I can have. I don't need to compromise my belief just to please everyone. Love me or hate me! That's it..
When it comes to studying, I really become a serious girl. I enjoy studying for I believe that this is the best thing I can have now, considering the fact that I'm a scholar in UP. I do consider education as an obligation ever since. Too many people are expecting much from me. (I hate it, really.) But I've learned to love it for the sake of choice.
MUSIC is my soul. I prefer ACOUSTIC. It is my (let me call it) field of expertise. I love to sing and I love to appreciate acoustic artists. It's my dream to become an acoustic singer someday or maybe a vocalist of a band.
Friendship: I have a lot of friends... But I'm assured that I also have the real ones...
Though food is a necessity, I consider it as a hobby. ^^ I love to eat. With a strict exception of shrimps, and other sea foods except fish, of course. But seriously, I love to write literary articles, and watching tv.
